Heavy Vehicle Certification
From February 2014 Heavy Vehicle regulation in Australia became a National responsibility. The National Heavy Vehicle Law came in to force and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) was formed.
This has meant some changes to procedures and requirements for modification of trucks in NSW.
From February 2014 all modifications to vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Mass of over 4.5t require certification and a Modification Plate to be fitted. Where previously new heavy vehicles were usually registered without an engineering assessment or certification it is now mandatory. This includes body installations, tow bars as well as wheelbase changes, lazy axle and crane installations that have always required certification.
Modifications that are carried out in accordance with VSB6 and the Manufacturer's Body Builder Guide are generally straightforward to certify. Following VSB 6 allows use of simplified ADR testing procedures.
ADR Compliance Services has more than 20 years experience in the heavy vehicle modification industry and can assist with the certification of all compliant modifications.
We offer fast turnaround on inspection, certification, modification plate production and installation.
We are also happy to meet with you to discuss how you can readily meet the requirements of the Code of Practice (VSB 6).
